One week, four cities, countless insights.
 

Over the past days, I had the opportunity to travel across China with our long-standing partner Dermavon 德镁医药, visiting Shenyang, Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai.

Together with my colleagues Serge Mako and Claudia Lazar from Kreussler Pharma, we met leading physicians, including Professor Xiaonan Yang at the Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Science, Beijing, Professor changming wang, Department of Interventional Vascular Surgery Peking University Third Hospital, Prof Min Yang, Chief Physian & Associate Professor at the Department of Interventional Vascular Surgery, Peking University First Hospital, and Professor Sen Yang, Tianjin First Central Hospital, to better understand the realities of patient care and the evolving healthcare landscape in China.

What stood out most was the value of direct exchange. Reports and market analyses are important, but there is no substitute for hearing firsthand from physicians about patient needs, treatment pathways and everyday clinical practice.

A particular focus of our discussions was Aethoxysklerol®. For decades, the product has supported physicians worldwide in the treatment of venous disease and venous malformations. It was particularly interesting to learn more about its growing use in China for the treatment of hemorrhoids, helping improve outcomes and quality of life for many patients.

The trip reinforced an important lesson: healthcare may differ across countries, but the goal remains the same – improving patient care through safe, effective and evidence-based treatments.
